Friday 24th Sept!

Hey everyone!
So! i will try and fill you in on the last week or so, Sometimes there are things that i wont be able to write on my blog, so if you reading this thinking I'm missing things out that is properly why!!

Last Thursday i came back up to the wonderful world of Manc, and went back to The Message on Friday!
This week has been our first week doing our placements and proper timetable! so my average week looks like this:
Monday- Prayers, Teaching, lunch, General creative workshop, tea, detached youth work on my estate.
Tuesday- Prayers, teaching, lunch, Vocal workshop, tea, Alpha
Wednesday- Prayers, teaching, fitness, lunch, Drama workshop, tea, Youth group at my church
Thursday- Prayers, teaching, lunch, Dance workshop, tea, Eden bus
Friday- refection's, lunch, Free afternoon to rehearse/ sleep!!

SO that is pretty much what i have done this week. We spent sometime meeting the bands that are at the message and hearing their stories, and getting some teaching on how to handle schools missions, in particular the question times, and what sort of questions they get asked.
We also had a worship meeting at our new church this week, and Me and one of my house mates are getting involved and helping out the next two Sundays, then being put onto the leading rota for the next year, which is all very exciting. By the sounds of it, it is pretty much a clean slate to be creative with. very exciting.
Having bible teaching everyday is a bit intense, but is good. Its very weird being back in the classroom and having to do lots of writing, and I've discovered i am not very good at sitting still!!!!
The early mornings are still a struggle, the bus goes at half 7, and some nights we wont be back in till 11pm. So prayers for energy would be really appreciated!!!
I would love to hear from some of the Yeovil lot, so feel free to comment or email me with questions about what I'm doing!!!
we should be getting proper Internet soon!! Ive had a argument with 02 today...!! so it should be on its way! haha!
hope you are all doing well

Okay, blog number two!
As most of you know, i have been really ill this week, and have ended up back at home with some nasty antibiotics!
which is rubbish i came back on saturday and should go back on thursday, i can not wait to get back up to Manchester.
So I'l attempt to give you a day by day encounter of whats happened since last monday!
Tuesday- Every tuesday first thing, there is prayers with all the message staff. So we went to that. Then we had VIP brunch with all the important people that we need to know, so all the bands, tutors and head of department staff. To try and see what we want to get involved with and chat to the right people! i think its sometimes called networking!!! Then we had lunch with all of the Eden leaders (http://www.eden-network.org) Then, we spent the afternoon with in yer face theatre group, who do modern day gospel sketches and teach community theatre in Manchester.
Wednesday- We got a lie in!!!!!!!!!! YAY! Then we went into central Manchester for a tour of the city, it is MASSIVE! the trams i swear try to run you over! the arndale centre is amazing! i can not wait for christmas shopping :)
Thurs/Fri- Every month the message have a whole day of prayer with all the staff and random people attached to the message, and because its the start of the new year, they decided to have 2 whole days!! to start with i was like err two wholeee days of prayer... but it was actually really good, had worship and a few different people spoke, and then we prayed for a few different things, and Andy Hawthorne spoke about a few different exciting things that are about to happen at the message!! most of them i cant go into on here, but they are EXCITING! and well worth praying about.

Also!! we've been asked to do a little bit of promoting! one of the messages bands
LZ7 is realesing a song into the chats on the 26th of september, they arent just a band but a movement. Its called the "shine your light campaign" and its getting young people to shine their light with random acts of kindness all across the UK.

Monday 6th September!

Hey Everyone!
So today was Day1 of my two week induction to Manchester.
It has been amazing!!!!
I will try and do a little bit of a catch up of whats happened since Saturday,

We moved in on Saturday, In my house there is Me, a Girl Called Theresa and two girls from Manchester Called Leanne and Becca.
After being in the house about 2 hours, Leanne and Becca went out to a gig, leaving me and T (the 2 Southerners)in the house by ourselves.
After 10Minuit's we realised that the hot water wasn't working...!! ISSUE. we looked for ages for switches and couldn't find any! So we phoned Matt are course leader, and he came and rescued us and showed us how to work the heating system.
Then Sunday morning, we went to our new church St Brides Old Trafford if you want to look it up! We are based on a Eden project on our Estate, so we have 3 other people who live on the estate who go to our church, but they weren't there as they had to go to another church for a friends commissioning. The people were lovely, and i think we are getting involved with pretty much everything straight away.
On our way to church, which is only a few streets away, we turned a corner and witnessed our first house raid, a few police ran past with a heavy metal door knocky down thing!!! so that was interesting! then on the way home from church we got lost...!!!
we went to pizza hut for lunch with our Eden workers which was lovely, then we went to Asda, Our asda is a bit of cultural experience in itself!! its humongous and just so many different people. and we managed to get the wrong bus home, but it was okay!
Then today was are first day at The Message HQ !
Its such a amazing building, with soo many amazing people. We had talks from a few people about different projects we're going to be involved with, and what The Message are planning for the future. There is one particular project i'm really excited for, so would appreciate prayer as i try to decide how i want to be involved. If you want to know more just ask!
We finished early today, so me and Theresa decided to try and adventure to the Trafford Centre. In theory this was fine apart from The Message is in Sharston which is nowhere near the trafford centre!!!! soo we thought a adventure would be fun! and hopped on a random bus and hoped for the best!! it turns out it was right yay! and would be quicker to use that bus in the morning to get there, and managed to change buses to get to trafford centre. I even met a guy who used to live in yeovil on the bus!! crazy.
Trafford centre was AMAZING! SOOOO incredible! i will definitely be visiting there more often. Obviously not spending money though.
Then Me and Theresa came home, and started cooking tea, then all our electrics went out... uhohhhh!!
SO i left T cooking and i went on a mission to find our fuse box, actually couldn't find it anywhere!!!! our house is huge and i searched every cupboard pulled furniture out, and couldn't find it. So T went and asked out next door neighbour where theirs is. Ours wasn't in the same place, but she said that on some of them its outside at the back. Now, this normally wouldn't be a problem, apart from the fact that our landlord has lost our back door key!!!! SO we phoned Matt again!!
So Matt came round, and found are fuse box in a cupboard almost instantly!! but, it wasn't that. Our house it the only house that is actually being rented and that the message don't own or haven't used before. and it turned out that we're on a metre with a card, and we have to go to the little corner shop to top it up with electric!!! SO Matt sorted that out, and we're now running on our emergency £7 !

That's pretty much whats happened so far! My house mates are amazing, they are all properly on fire for God. We are having so much fun. I am truly loving it.
Its still slightly weird being away from home, and knowing how far away everyone is, but this is totally where i am meant to be for now. I might even be getting a northern accent!!! eeek!!

Lots of love
